Big 12 Conference Announces Fines For Anti-Mormon Chants

(Provo, UT) — After another round of anti-Mormon chants, the Big 12 Conference is announcing a plan to fine schools and penalize football teams because of fan behavior. The conference says the new rules go into effect immediately. It comes after fans at the University of Central Florida taunted BYU football fans over their affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The new fines start at 100-thousand dollars for a first offense. A second confirmed offense will trigger a 15-yard penalty and a 500-thousand dollar fine.
