Earlier this month, Box Elder County’s three-member commission voted to allow the project backed by Canadian billionaire Kevin O’Leary. Angry residents are trying to get a referendum on the ballot. The county clerk should know by next week if those opponents met a key deadline. If they pass that deadline, they can move forward to collect signatures as they try to get the issue before voters.
