(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah Attorney General Derek Brown is joining dozens of his colleagues in other states in issuing a warning letter to Meta. They say the social media giant needs to better police deceptive medical ads on Facebook and Instagram. Brown and the other AGs say Meta is not doing enough to stop misleading ads about GLP-1 drugs. Those drugs have become popular as a way to lose weight, but now deceptive advertising is flooding many social media sites. The letter says the AGs don’t want to stop sales of GLP-1 drugs, but they do want to crack down on misleading ads.
