Superintendent of Public Instruction Sydnee Dickson Stepping Down

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah’s head teacher is stepping down. Superintendent of Public Instruction Sydnee Dickson will leave the post in June of this year. Dickson has been in the role for close to nine years. Dickson made the announcement in an email Friday, and although she didn’t explain why she’s stepping down, she said she’s looking for “other opportunities to support public education.” The state Board of Education has announced it will begin looking for her replacement in the next few months.
