BOISE, Idaho-Weber State men’s basketball (17-14, 11-9 in Big Sky conference play) commences its appearance in the conference tournament at Boise, Idaho by drawing Portland State (16-15, 11-9 in Big Sky play) in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

This is a 2:30 pm tip-off and the Wildcats face a streaking Vikings team that has won seven of its last eight games.

The Wildcats score 80.2 points per game and surrender 74.4 points per contest.

First team All-Big Sky team member, junior guard Jerrick Harding, scored 21.9 points per game during the regular season for the Wildcats.

Junior guard Cody John (15 points per game) made honorable mention All-Big Sky as did senior forward Brekkott Chapman (12.5 points, 8.6 rebounds per game).

The Vikings scored 77.5 points per game during the regular season and gave up 74.9 points per contest.

Sophomore guard Holland Woods (14.9 points per game) and junior guard Michael Nuga (10.8 points per game) were the Vikings’ leading scorers during the regular season.

The Wildcats have traditionally dominated Portland State, as they lead the all-time series against the Vikings 40-14.

Furthermore, Weber State is 6-0 all-time against Portland State in the Big Sky Conference tournament.
