Dixie State Men’s Basketball Continues RMAC Play With Trip To Colorado



COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-After almost pulling off an upset at Division I Wyoming last Saturday, Dixie State men’s basketball returns to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play with a trip to Colorado.

The Trailblazers are 4-5 and 2-3 in RMAC play and ensue in a streak that sees six of their first eight conference games played away from Burns Arena.

Friday, Dixie State visits Colorado-Colorado Springs to tangle with the Mountain Lions who are 6-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

This is only the second time the Trailblazers and Mountain Lions have met with Dixie State prevailing 107-83 against them in the 2007-08 season.

Dixie State averages 70.7 points per game and gives up 72.4 points per contest.

The Trailblazers’ statistical star remains junior forward Matt Conway (15.4 points, 5.8 rebounds per game).

The Mountain Lions score 82.7 points per game while surrendering 79.7 points per contest.

They are led by senior guard Elijah Ross (15 points per game) and junior guard Padiet Wang (12.6 points, 5.7 rebounds per game).

Saturday, Dixie State travels to Golden, Colo. to face the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers.

This is the first match-up in history between Dixie State and Colorado School of Mines on the hardwood.

The Orediggers enter this weekend’s action at 8-3 and 5-0 in conference play.

Colorado School of Mines scores 82.5 points per game and only surrenders 70.7 points per tilt.

Redshirt senior guard Ben Sonnefeld is the Orediggers’ leading scorer, netting 15.1 points per game
