Christmas Tree Cutting Permits Available on Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Land Monday

UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Sunday evening, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest confirmed Christmas tree permits wil be available Monday November 2 on Heber-Kamas Ranger District land.

Permits are $20 and one permit is allowed per person. The Heber City District office is still closed at this time.

Forest service offices will be closed Monday November 11 to honor Veteran’s Day.

Permits will be sold at the following locations:

-Kamas Ranger District Office, 50 E. Center, Kamas. The offices are open Monday-Friday: 8:00 am-4:30 pm.

-Heber City: Silver Eagle, 1590 S. U.S. Highway 40, Heber City.

-Mirror Lake Service Station, 2 N. Main, Kamas. (Mirror Lake Station is a loyal Heber Valley Radio client so give them your patronage!)

You may also get your Christmas tree permits online at the following site: https://www.recreation.gov/tree-permits.

A fee of $2.50 will be affixed to online sales, so be mindful of that.

Species of trees that may be cut include subalpine fir, white fir and lodgepole pine.

Trees that are 20 feet tall or shorter may be cut and removed until December 25.

All trees must be tagged prior to being transported.
