PHILADELPHIA—Offensive tackle Garett Bolles became the eighth first-round draft pick in Utah history when he was selected by Denver as the No. 20 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Bolles (6-6, 296) was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in his only season at Utah, starting in all 13 games as a junior left tackle. He is the second Ute offensive lineman to be drafted in the first round, joining former Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jordan Gross, who was the No. 8 overall pick and first offensive lineman drafted in 2003.
Bolles, a 2015 junior college All-American at Snow College, is the second Ute offensive lineman drafted by Denver. Zane Beadles, a second-round pick in 2010, now plays for San Francisco.
The 25-year-old Bolles will now block for former Ute running back Devontae Booker—a fourth round pick by the Broncos in 2016 who rushed for 612 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie season.
