Mookie Betts doubled and scored on a single by Hanley Ramirez in the bottom of the 19th to end the Red Sox’s 3-2 victory. The Yankees blew a 6-1 lead in Baltimore and lost, 7-6 on a two-run homer by Manny Machado in the bottom of the ninth.

UNDATED (AP) — The Chicago Cubs still pace the NL Central by 3 ½ games over Milwaukee following losses by both teams. Max Moroff and David Freese (freez) hit RBI singles in the eighth inning to send Pittsburgh past the Cubs, 4-3. Scooter Gennett (jeh-NEHT’) hit a three-run homer while Cincinnati scored five times in the seventh to take a 7-1 lead in a 9-3 rout of the Brewers.

SEATTLE (AP) — Justin Verlander was a winner in his Houston Astros debut, allowing one run over six innings of a 3-1 verdict over Seattle. Cameron Maybin belted a tiebreaking, two-run homer that also broke up a no-hit bid in the seventh inning. Maybin went deep off Emilio Pagan after starter Ariel Miranda needed 112 pitches to complete six no-hit innings.

CHICAGO (AP) — Jose Ramirez homered twice and the Cleveland Indians stretched the longest winning streak in the majors this season to 13 games by trouncing the White Sox, 9-4. Seven relievers combined for 8 1/3 scoreless innings after Danny Salazar got just two outs in his return from right elbow inflammation. Austin Jackson and Yan Gomes (yahn gohmz) also homered for the Indians, who lead the AL Central by 11 games and are one victory away from tying the longest winning streak in team history.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks tied a team record with their 12th consecutive victory while dealing the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers their 10th loss in 11 games. Catcher Yasmani Grandal’s error in the 10th inning allowed two runs to score in the Diamondbacks’ 3-1 victory over the Dodgers. Zack Greinke (GREHN’-kee) had to settle for a no-decision after allowing only four hits over seven innings, including Grandal’s game-tying homer in the fifth.
