The win pushed the Dodgers to 84-34, 50 games over the break-even .500 mark. Corey Seager and Austin Barnes hit two-run singles in the offensive onslaught. The Dodgers hit the 50 over .500 mark for the first time since 1953.
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Matt Joyce hit a three-run double to cap a six-run eighth inning and the Oakland Athletics rallied past the Kansas City Royals 10-8 on Tuesday night. Joyce also homered and had four RBIs. Khris Davis added his 33rd home run and Matt Olson hit his fourth in five days to help the A’s clinch at least a tie for the season series between the former division rivals.

Speaking on stage to students, parents and families connected his to foundation at the end of a daylong event at an Ohio amusement Park, James said he wanted to spend a moment addressing the weekend’s violent protests, where a woman was killed.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The attorney for the first woman to sue Baylor University over allegations the nation’s largest Baptist school ignored or mishandled rape allegations says she’s settled her case. Jasmin Hernandez sued Baylor in early 2016, two months before the school released the results of an internal investigation that found Baylor had mishandled rape or assault cases for years and the football program acted as if it was “above the rules.”
ATLANTA (AP) — Jonquel Jones had 20 points and 13 rebounds for her seventh straight double-double, and the Connecticut Sun beat the short-handed Atlanta Dream 96-75 in the WNBA Tuesday night. Connecticut (18-9), winners of six straight, won in Atlanta for the first time since June 7, 2015. Jasmine Thomas made four 3-pointers and added 18 points for Connecticut (18-9), which clinched its first playoff spot since 2012 last Saturday. Courtney Williams scored 12 points.
