Snow Shines Under The Lights

(Ephraim, Utah) — For the first time since the 1950’s Snow College fans watched their team play under the lights at Badger Stadium. And they didn’t disappoint, as Snow quarterback Shane Johnson completed 7 of 10 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns in the Badgers 65-6 victory over the Wasatch Revolution. The Houston, Texas, product also rushed for 65 yards and a score against the semi-pro club.

Wide receiver Jeremiah Beverly caught three passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns, while strong safety Daymon Murray intercepted a pass and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown. The Badgers were led on defense by middle linebacker Conner Taylor who recorded seven and a half tackles, a sack, and two tackles for a loss.

The first touchdown scored on the new artificial turf and under the newly installed lights was fittingly recorded by Derek Wright of Sterling, Utah. The Sanpete county native and former Manti high school football star caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from Shane Johnson to make it 7-0 Snow in the first quarter.

Snow picked up their first victory under new head coach Paul Peterson and move to 1-0 on the season. The Badgers next game will take place in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Friday, September 1st, as Snow visits the Air Force Prep Huskies for a 1:00pm kickoff on KMTI AM 650 & 95.1 FM.
