RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Cameron Franklin posted 13 points and 8 rebounds and the Valley Buffaloes used a 15-5 surge in the 4th Quarter to stymie Wayne 43-38 Thursday in the 1-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center. Cobe Reck added 11 more points for the Buffaloes, who advance to the 1-A state semifinals Friday at 7:30 pm.
RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Nick Jarman amassed 17 points and 12 rebounds on 8-11 shooting as well as four blocks for good measure as the Rich Rebels downed Tintic 48-34 in the 1-A state quarterfinals Thursday at the Sevier Valley Center. Jesse Wall’s 13 points paced the Miners in defeat. Tintic next draws Valley Friday at 7:30 pm in the second of two 1-A state semifinals at the Sevier Valley Center.
RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Austyn Brinkerhoff posted 28 points and 8 rebounds, making five of his last six shots to shoot 9-18 for the game in the process, as the Bryce Valley Mustangs overpowered St. Joseph 62-50 Thursday in the 1-A quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center. Masen White had 19 points and 13 rebounds in the loss for the Jayhawks while Matt Morton added 17 more for St. Joseph in defeat. The Mustangs next play in the 6:00 pm semifinal Friday, the first of two semifinals, at the Sevier Valley Center.
RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Jace Eyre posted 19 points on 6-9 shooting from the field as the Panguitch Bobcats hammered the Merit Knights 70-33 Thursday in the 1-A state quarterfinals. The proficient Bobcats shot 27-48 (56.3 percent) for the game. Up next, the Bobcats face Bryce Valley in the first of two semifinals Friday with the game at 6:00 pm. RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Ammon Graehl posted 11 points on 5-6 shooting and the Duchesne Eagles lived to play another day at the 1-A state tournament by routing Diamond Ranch 77-43 Thursday in the consolation bracket at the Sevier Valley Center. Davis Harrison had 11 points in the loss for the Diamondbacks. The Eagles next play Friday in the consolation bracket at 1:30 pm.
RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Ethan Guymon posted 14 points on 5-7 shooting as the Parowan Rams lived to play another day by clobbering Green River 60-29 Thursday in the consolation bracket at the Sevier Valley Center. Trey Vetere’s 7 points and 8 rebounds led the Pirates in the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Lucas Hatch poured in 13 points off the bench and the Monticello Buckaroos smacked Intermountain Christian 54-33 Thursday in the 1-A consolation bracket at the Sevier Valley Center. Kevin Biel had 14 points in the loss for the Lions. Monticello next faces Parowan Friday at 3:00 pm in the consolation bracket.
