OREM, Utah (AP)-Isaiah Green posted 15 points and the Summit Academy Bears outlasted Beaver 45-36 Saturday to commence the 2-A boys play-in games at Orem High School. Davis Heslington had 12 points in the loss for the Beavers.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Kenyon Birdwell posted 13 points and 10 rebounds and Alec Williams added 13 more points as the Grand Red Devils overpowered Rowland Hall/St. Mark’s 63-44 Saturday in the 2-A boys play-in game at Orem High School. Jack Dischmann had 15 points in the loss for the Winged Lions. The Red Devils next face Summit Academy Thursday in the first of the boys’ 2-A quarterfinals at 9:30 am at the Sevier Valley Center.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Tyson Chisholm posted 15 points on 6-11 shooting while Caleb Barton and Brodee Tebbs had 14 points apiece as the South Sevier Rams blasted Providence Hall 59-42 Saturday in the 2-A play-in game at Orem High School. The Rams shot 11-19 (57.9 percent) behind the arc as well to advance to the 2-A state quarterfinals Thursday. Tannon Peterson had 24 points on 9-11 shooting in the loss for the Patriots.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Christian Gutierrez had 21 points on 9-15 shooting and the Layton Christian Eagles overpowered San Juan 81-63 Saturday in the 2-A play-in game at Orem High School. Jordan Blake had 17 points in the loss for the Broncos. Layton Christian next faces South Sevier Thursday at 11:10 am in the quarterfinals at Sevier Valley Center.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Kaden Atkinson posted 20 points, making 6 of 9 3-pointers as the South Summit Wildcats downed Enterprise 58-48 to advance to the 2-A boys quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center Thursday. Caden Prisbrey had 21 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Wolves.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Alexander Priskos had 19 points and sealed the game with a key layup in the closing minutes as Waterford outlasted Manti 56-50 in the 2-A boys play-in game at Orem High School Saturday. Tanner Rasmussen had 22 points on 9-16 shooting in the loss for the Templars. Waterford next faces South Summit Thursday at 12:50 pm in the 2-A quarterfinals.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Zac Jorgensen posted 17 points and the Emery Spartans routed Rockwell 93-34 in the 2-A boys play-in game at Orem High School Saturday. Marshall Sellers had 8 points in the loss for the Marshals.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Tyler Coleman and Calvin Hunsaker had 15 points apiece and the North Summit Braves claimed the final spot in the boys’ 2-A state tournament with a 70-44 rout of Delta Saturday in the play-in game at Orem High School. The Braves shot 54.7 percent for the game and spent most of the evening shooting well over 60 percent. Jaymen Brough had 10 points and 8 rebounds in the loss for the Rabbits. North Summit next faces Emery Thursday at 2:30 pm in the boys’ quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

*Girls Basketball*

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-The Bryce Valley Mustangs used a 9-1 run in the closing moments to force overtime and prevailed 37-36 over Tabiona to win their first 1-A state girls championship in school history Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center.

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Courtney Jackson posted 22 points and the Wayne Badgers placed sixth at the 1-A girls state tournament with a 61-41 rout of Milford Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. Elena Yee’s 21 points led the Tigers in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Melanie Lamborn’s 11 points led the way as the Rich Rebels took fifth at the 1-A state girls tournament with a 48-28 rout of Tintic Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. Bailey Wall had a game-high 16 points in the loss for the Miners.

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Shantae Miller netted 14 points and the Panguitch Bobcats placed third at the 1-A girls state tournament with a 34-25 win over Monticello at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday. Atlanta Black and Journey Baird had 6 points apiece for the Buckaroos in defeat.

GRANTSVILLE, Utah (AP)-Rylie Ekins posted 23 points and the Grantsville Cowgirls lassoed North Sanpete 62-43 Saturday in the 3-A play-in game. Catherine Lund’s 15 points led the Hawks in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Shandi Bastian symmetrically amassed 15 points and 15 rebounds as the Richfield Wildcats routed Tooele 48-30 Saturday in the 3-A play in game round. Abby Webber had 9 points in the loss for the Buffaloes. Richfield next faces the Cedar Lady Reds Thursday at 7:30 pm in the 3-A state quarterfinals at Utah State University in Logan.
