Bees Edge Rainiers In Series Opener; Raptors Win, Owlz Lose

(Tacoma, WA) — The Salt Lake Bees built a 3-0 lead and held on for a 3-2 win over the Rainiers in the opener of a four-game set in Tacoma. David Fletcher drilled a solo homer for Salt Lake, which is clinging to a one-game lead on El Paso for first place in the PCL Pacific Southern. The series continues tonight.

Elsewhere in minor league baseball, the Orem Owlz suffered a 7-3 road loss to the Grand Junction Rockies. Orem dipped to 42-and-21 on the year. The Raptors rolled to a 7-1 win over the Idaho Falls Chukars in Ogden. The Raptors improved to 41-and-23.
