FRESNO, Calif.-Thursday, after vanquishing BYU in a 113-103 thriller, the Weber State men’s basketball team returns to action against the Fresno State Bulldogs of the Mountain West Conference at the Save Mart Center.
The Wildcats enter this non-conference tilt with a record of 5-2 and the 113 points scored in the win over the Cougars is the highest point total in head coach Randy Rahe’s tenure and the sixth-most the Wildcats have ever scored against a fellow Division I opponent.
The high-flying Wildcats average 90.3 points per game, which ranks them eighth nationally. They also give up only 74.3 points per game thus far on the season.
In that game, high-scoring guard Jerrick Harding led the Wildcats with 30 points and he is averaging 24.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
The Wildcats lead the Bulldogs 4-2 all-time with Fresno State winning the matchup last year at Fresno, 83-71.
The Bulldogs, who are also 5-2, average 78.6 points per game and give up 69.4 points per contest. Fresno State is led by guard Deshon Taylor (19.3 points, 3 rebounds a game) and guard Braxton Huggins (19 points, 3.3 rebounds per game).
