OGDEN, Utah-Per a Monday announcement, Weber State men’s basketball confirmed it has decided, along with the university’s women’s basketball program, to commence the 2020-21 season without spectators at the Dee Events Center.
This announcement comes on the heels of rising covid-19 case numbers in Utah and more specifically the Weber-Morgan Health Department. This also coincides with Weber State’s commitment to the well-being of student-athletes, coaches, staff and the community.
Athletic director Tim Crompton stated the university anticipates the time when fans can be welcomed back into the Dee Events Center safely.
A determination concerning spectators at Weber State basketball games will be made at a future date to allow for possible flexibility concerning conditions surrounding covid-19.
