Weber State Men’s Basketball Adds New Assistant

OGDEN, Utah-Wednesday, Weber State men’s basketball added Eric Daniels as an assistant coach per a statement from head coach Randy Rahe.

Daniels had previously been at Utah Valley University, spending the last four seasons on the Wolverines’ staff.

He brings the Wildcats 11 years of experience on the sidelines, which commenced in the 2008-09 season at Southern Utah University.

Daniels then spent five seasons on the staff at Division II Regis, where he was responsible for recruiting and player development.

He then spent one season on the basketball operations staff of the NBA’s Orlando Magic as he assisted in on-court work, player development and video.

He played collegiately at NAIA Division II Johnson & Wales of Denver, leading the Wildcats to the 2005 NAIA Tournament at Branson, Mo.

Daniels is JWU’s all-time leader in points (1,191) and steals (306).

Daniels is a native of Salt Lake City and the son of longtime college basketball assistant coach Donny Daniels, who is currently one of Larry Krystkowiak’s assistants at the University of Utah.

Daniels replaces Garrett Lever, who left earlier this summer from Weber State’s staff.
