ST. GEORGE, Utah-Friday, Wasatch High School’s boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Pine View Invitational at St. George, which featured many of the best athletes in Utah.
The Wasatch girls are currently in 16th place with 4 points, while Desert Hills’ girls presently have the lead with 23 points.
The Wasatch boys are in 19th place with 3 points. Orem’s boys have the current lead with 33 points.
In the girls’ 1600-meter run, Abby Randall (5:24.34) placed 21st overall. Hailey Ellis placed 47th overall, Madelyn King finished 72nd, Savanna Dorrough placed 81st and Anna Baird finished 99th.
In the girls’ 4 x 800 relay, Wasatch finished fifth. This team consists of Hailey Ellis, Abby Randall, Madelyn King and Lotte Pensky.
For the boys, in the 1600-meter run, Bentley Ackerson (4:38.94) placed 26th. Josh Benson placed 57th, Josh Horner finished 95th, Jake Giles finished 123rd and Luke Straddeck placed 151st.
The boys’ 4 x 800 relay team finished sixth (9:25.64). This team is comprised of Josh Horner, Brayden Guymon, Jake Giles and Josh Benson.
In the boys’ high jump, Samuel Lemon placed 20th with a leap of 5 feet-6 inches.
