HEBER CITY, Utah-Wasatch High star wrestler Zak Kohler was named as the Deseret News’ Boys’ Athlete of the Week for his excellence last week.
Kohler, a senior who has committed to continue his career at the Air Force Academy, improved to 34-4 on the season by winning all six of his matches at last weekend’s Rockwell Rumble at Heber City.
Kohler capped off his magnificent showing by besting Mountain Crest’s Jace Dart to win the 145-pound title.
He won his matches by fall, technical fall or major decision in all six matches.
Earlier this season, Kohler also prevailed at the All-Star Duals at Utah Valley University in Orem.
Kohler is the defending 5-A state champion at 138 pounds, as he netted a record of 47-2 last season at that weight.
