SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, at the Liberty Park tennis courts of Salt Lake City, Wasatch High School competed at the final day of the 5-A girls tennis championships.
Wasps star senior Alysha Damron had her title run conclude in the first singles semifinals as she was bested in straight sets by East sophomore Emmie Moore 6-0, 6-2.
Wasatch’s star second doubles team of senior Lana McNaughton and junior Katie Henderson were eliminated 4-6, 6-2 and 6-7 (6) by Springville juniors Emma Hafen and Hanna Geary.
This Red Devils’ duo will meet Salem Hills’ team of sophomore Emilee Nichols and junior Megan Mayo for the state title in this competition.
The Wasps conclude the tournament by placing 10th, netting four points.
