5-A State Football Playoffs First Round
HEBER CITY, Utah-Parker Quinton threw scoring passes of 17 and 31 yards to Damien Skiby and the Wasatch Wasps pounded the Hillcrest Huskies 42-6 Friday in the first round of the 5-A state football playoffs at Wright-Tree Stadium.
Quinton added a pair of 2-yard touchdown runs for the Wasps and Zak Thacker had scoring runs of one yard and four yards to pace Wasatch in the rout.
The No. 9 seeded Wasps in the Utah High School Activities Association RPI improved to 7-4 on the season and next visit Salt Lake City to face the No. 8 seeded Highland Rams Friday at 4:00 pm in the 5-A state quarterfinals.
Judging by the seeds, this promises to be one of the more competitive games in the 5-A playoffs next week.
