Wasatch Football Outlasts Springville 28-27 in Overtime To Win On Senior Night

HEBER CITY, Utah-Parker Quinton threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jaxen Nielsen and Ammon Tuttle successfully converted the subsequent PAT as the Wasatch Wasps outlasted the Springville Red Devils 28-27 in the Region 8 regular season finale for both squads at Wright-Tree Stadium.

Zak Thacker had scoring runs of 5 and 15 yads as well for the Wasps, who secured a third-place finish in Region 8 by going 4-2 in region play and 6-4 overall. This represents the Wasps’ highest place in Region 8 in their 5-A history, confirming the program has eclipsed its previous attainments.

Payton Murphy threw two touchdown passes to Austin Mortensen and ran for another score in the loss for the Red Devils.

The UHSAA has confirmed the final football RPI rankings for all classifications will be released Saturday at 9:00 am.
