Wasatch Cross Country Competes At Sugarhouse Invitational Wednesday

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, Wasatch High School’s boys and girls cross country teams each competed at the Highland Invitational at Sugarhouse Park and had a solid start to the season.

The Wasps’ girls placed a respectable 12th overall with 275 points, while Region 8 rival Springville won the girls’ title with 73 points.

The Wasatch boys placed 29th overall with 751 points and Corner Canyon’s boys took the title with 67 points.

For the girls, Timpview’s Jaroldeen Oveson won the individual title (17:42.50).

Wasatch’s girls were led by Abbie Randall who placed 31st overall (19:37.40).

Allison Munck finished 39th overall (19:46.20) while Anna Baird was 49th (20:14.60).

Lillie Randall placed 71st overall (20:42.20), Danielle Krull placed 122nd overall (21:55.30) with Abigail Krull placing 179th overall (23:59.30) and Anna McCullough placed 188th overall (24:33.80).

For the boys, Skyline’s Thomas Boyden (14:47.70) took the overll title. For the Wasps, Bentley Ackerson placed 102nd overall (17:01.60) with Conner Weldon placing 135th (17:21.40). Carson Guymon placed 140th overall (17:26.30) and Zack Goode finished 195th overall (18:13.30).

Hyrum Allen placed 230th (18:52.80) with Caleb West placing 274th (20:16.20) to round out the Wasps’ participation in the meet.
