DENVER-Monday, Utah Valley University star volleyball outside hitter Kazna Tarawhiti was named as the Western Athletic Conference’s offensive player of the week.
Tarawhiti, a freshman out of Lehi, Utah, helped the Wolverines go 3-1 last week while averaging 4.79 kills per set.
She was named to the Oregon Classic All-Tournament team at Eugene, Ore. this past weekend and threw down 22 kills, incurring only five errors. She amassed a .370 hitting percentage and 5.9 points per set.
She also added three service aces to go along with 16 kills in a sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Eugene and in a home match at Orem against Idaho State, she posted 19 kills and 10 digs.
This weekly honor is the first of Tarawhiti’s career.
