OREM, Utah-Tuesday, Utah Valley University women’s basketball team netted the 16th best GPA in Division I as announced by the WBCA.
Behind their academic recognition, the Wolverines finished the 2017-18 academic year with a collective 3.508 GPA, making them one of only 19 programs nationally to net a GPA of 3.5 or better.
This honor commemorates the ninth time UVU women’s basketball has made this list under head coach Cathy Nixon.
This prestigious honor comes on the heels of the school’s top fall GPA (3.56) among all Wolverine teams competing during the 2017-18 winter season.
This past year, the Wolverines also placed nine on the Western Athletic Conference’s all-academic teams.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
The 2017-18 season is the 23rd season in which the WBCA has completed the honor rolls.
