OREM, Utah-Jamison Overton netted 18 points and Fardaws Aimaq amassed 12 points and 14 rebounds as Utah Valley won its WAC opener by pummeling California Baptist (3-3, 0-1 in WAC play) 77-50 at the UCCU Center Friday.
The Wolverines (3-5, 1-0 in WAC play) out-rebounded the Lancers 49-26 and limited the high-octane squad to 35.7 percent shooting for the game.
The Lancers led 7-2 early before the Wolverines went on a 24-6 run to take a 26-13 lead with 8:38 left in the first half.
Gorjok Gok had 14 points on 6-11 from the field in the loss for the Lancers.
