OREM, Utah-Tuesday, Utah Valley baseball (13-36, 9-15 in WAC play) hosts Washington State (10-36-1, 2-21-1 in Pac-12 play) in a non-conference tilt at UCCU Ballpark.
The Wolverines, despite their disappointing record, took two of three games from conference-leading Sacramento State last week to remain in prime position for claiming a berth in the upcoming WAC tournament at Mesa, Ariz.
Senior infielder Ryan Eastburn leads the Wolverines in batting average (.344) and fellow senior, outfielder Michael Beltran bats .328 and senior infielder Alexander Marco leads Utah Valley with six home runs and 36 RBI.
The Cougars are paced by junior outfielder Danny Sinatro (a team-best .291 batting average), and junior infielder Dillon Plew ( a team-best 4 home runs and 27 RBI).
Junior left-hander A.J. Block (a team-best 39 strikeouts) leads Washington State’s pitching staff.
Both sophomore left-hander Bryce Moyle and redshirt junior right-handed hurler Davis Baillie are 1-1 on the season for Washington State in conference play.
