UVU and Weber State Men’s Basketball Meet Saturday

OGDEN, Utah-Saturday, Utah Valley and Weber State men’s basketball meet for the 12th time in history Saturday at the Dee Events Center.

The Wildcats narrowly lead the all-time series over the Wolverines 6-5. Interestingly, the home team in the series has always won.

The Wolverines, who come into this game at 7-4, are 21st nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (39.8 percent), 26th in the nation in 3-point field goals (100), 34th in total rebounds (412 net rebounds) and 41st in defensive rebounds per game (28.91).

Utah Valley scores 77.3 points per game and gives up 72.7 points per contest. Guard Jake Toolson posts 15.2 points and 4 rebounds per game while shooting 56 percent from the field for the season. Fellow guard Conner Toolson is close behind him scoring 15.1 points per game and averaging 2.5 rebounds per contest as he shoots 50.8 percent from the field.

Weber State comes into this game at 5-4 having lost two straight.

The Wildcats average 83.4 points per game, while surrendering 74.2 points per contest.

Star junior guard Jerrick Harding averages 20.7 points per game and 4.7 boards per contest with fellow junior guard Cody John ( a Wasatch Academy graduate) averaging 16.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per outing.
