SAN ANTONIO (AP)-No. 12 Utah and Texas hope the Alamo Bowl can be the place to wipe out the bitter taste of how their regular seasons ended.
The Utes lost their chance at the College Football Playoff when they were beaten in the Pac-12 championship game by Oregon December 6.
Texas’ Big 12 title hopes faded by late October. Utah will have a secondary depleted by injuries at safety and corner-back Jaylon Johnson skipping the game to prepare for the NFL draft.
Texas should finally be healthy in the secondary but may face its biggest challenge in stopping Utes running back Zack Moss.
