Utah State Football Stays Near the Top of National Rankings In Key Statistical Categories

LOGAN, Utah-Saturday, as Utah State football overpowered Colorado State 34-24 for Homecoming, the Aggies remained atop the national standings in several key statistical categories.

By virtue of junior wide receiver Savon Scarver’s 107-yard kickoff return for a score against the Rams, USU is the top team in the nation in kickoff returns 34.6 yards per return).

They also rank ninth nationally in offensive yards per game (533 yards per contest) and are 12th nationally in passing yards per game (326.3 yards per contest).

The Aggies are 19th in scoring offense (38.5 points per game) and 17th in 3rd down conversion percentage (50 percent).

Junior quarterback Jordan Love is sixth nationally in completions per game (26.3 per game) and 14th in the country in passing yards per contest (301.8 yards per game) and total offense (318.8 yards per game).

Junior linebacker David Woodward leads the nation with four forced fumbles  and third nationally in tackles (13.8 stops per game).

Their season continues Saturday at 10:00 am MDT at SEC power LSU. The 4-0 Tigers are coming off of a bye and are currently ranked No. 4 in the nation.
