Pacific Coast League

TACOMA, Wash.-Taylor Ward hit his 26th home run of the season and the Salt Lake Bees doubled up the Tacoma Rainiers 6-3 in Pacific Coast League baseball action Tuesday at Cheney Stadium. The Bees overcame a 3-0 deficit in the top of the 3rd Inning with Michael Hermosillo’s RBI single starting the comeback. Jose Rojas added a 2-run RBI triple in the 3rd with Jo Adell’s double and Ward’s homer each coming in the 4th Inning as the Bees improved to 54-73. Jeremy Beasley earned the win on the mound for the Bees as he is now 1-0. Kelby Tomlinson and Mitch Haniger had RBI in defeat for the 58-69 Rainiers.

Pioneer League

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Jose Verrier, D’Shawn Knowles and Morgan McCullough each homered as the Orem Owlz bested the Grand Junction Rockies 10-8 at Suplizio Field Tuesday in Pioneer League baseball action. David Clawson added a clutch RBI single in the top of the 9th Inning to give the Owlz a key insurance run for a 10-7 lead. Jacob Voss took the win on the mound for the Owlz as he improved to 2-0 on the season. Orem currently sports a record of 24-35 with the victory. Reese Berberet’s 2-run homer paced the Rockies as they fell to 27-31.
