Pacific Coast League
SALT LAKE CITY-Jose Pierela, Seth Mejias-Brien and Matthew Batten each posted a pair of RBI as the El Paso Chihuahuas routed the Salt Lake Bees 9-2 Sunday at Smith’s Ballpark.
Webster Rivas and Boog Powell also posted RBI for the Chihuahuas, who enter the All-Star Break with the best record in the Pacific Coast League’s Pacific Southern division at 55-34. They are currently 4.5 games ahead of the Las Vegas Aviators.
Jared Walsh and Taylor Ward each homered in the loss for the Bees, as they fell to 39-50. They are currently 16 games behind the All-Star game-hosting Chihuahuas in the southern division of the PCL.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Andy Pages’ three-run homer highlighted an 11-run 3rd Inning for the Ogden Raptors as they routed Rocky Mountain 19-8 Sunday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League baseball action. Justin Yurchak had a pair of RBI doubles for the Raptors, who improved to 16-6 with the win. Tre Todd and Joe Vranesh also added RBI for Ogden in the victory. Michael Wilson homered in the loss for the Vibes, as they fell to 9-13.
OREM, Utah-Cristopher Navarro posted 3 RBI as the Grand Junction Rockies doubled up Orem 6-3 in Pioneer League baseball action at UCCU Ballpark Sunday. Eddy Diaz and Owen Taylor also added RBI for the Rockies, as they improved to 12-10 with the win. Adrian Rondon homered and tripled in the loss for the Owlz, as they fell to 7-15.
