SALT LAKE CITY-Jared Walsh belted three home runs and the Salt Lake Bees smacked the Albuquerque Isotopes 17-6 Tuesday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League baseball action.
The Bees built a 5-0 lead after the first inning as Kaleb Cowart had a three-run homer and Brennon Lund added an RBI double.
Jarrett Parker, Jose Rojas and Justin Bour also homered for the Bees, who improved to 44-58 with the win.
Patrick Sandoval earned the win on the mound for Salt Lake, improving his record to 4-4.
Josh Fuentes homered in the loss for the Isotopes, as they fell to 44-58.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Brandon Lewis homered twice and the Ogden Raptors won their 15th game in their last 16 outings as they routed the Grand Junction Rockies 11-4 Tuesday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League baseball action.
Andrew Shaps, Sauryn Lao and Jimmy Titus also homered for the Raptors, who improved to 29-7 with the win.
Kevin Malisheski improved to 5-2 on the season as he posted the win on the mound for the Raptors.
Turner Brown homered in the loss for the Rockies, as they fell to 19-17.
OREM, Utah-Johan Sala had an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th Inning as the Orem Owlz outlasted Rocky Mountain 8-7 Tuesday at UCCU Ballpark in Pioneer League baseball action.
The Owlz overcame a 5-0 deficit in the bottom of the 4th Inning by virtue of a pair of David Clawson home runs, with his second giving Orem a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the 8th Inning.
The Vibes regained the lead at 7-6 in the top of the 9th Inning on a Bryan Torres RBI sngle.
Orem tied things up 7-7 in the bottom of the 9th on Jeremiah Jackson’s 13th home run of the season. This ultimately set the stage for Sala’s heroics as the Owlz improved to 13-23. Jacob Voss earned the win on the mound for Orem.
In defeat, Nick Kahle added a home run for the 15-21 Vibes.
