SUMMERLIN, Nev.-Mark Payton homered three times and Corban Joseph added an insurance three-run homer in the bottom of the 8th Inning as the Las Vegas Aviators outlasted Salt Lake 13-9 Saturday at Las Vegas Ballpark.
Sheldon Neuse also homered for Las Vegas, while Joseph came up with a key RBI double for the 53-40 Aviators. Taylor Ward and Kaleb Cowart homered in the loss for the Bees, as they fell to 40-52.
Pioneer League
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Andrew Sharps had an RBI single and Andy Pages scored on an error as Sam McWilliams stole second base as the Ogden Raptors bested Idaho Falls 3-1 Saturday at Melaleuca Field in Pioneer League baseball action.
The game only lasted five innings because of a wet field. The Raptors improved to 21-6 with the win while Michael Emodi had an RBI single in defeat for the Chukars, who fell to 14-11.
MISSOULA, Mont.-David Clawson hit his 2nd home run of the season and the Orem Owlz outlasted the Missoula Osprey 3-2 Saturday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. Jeremiah Jackson had an RBI double and D’Shawn Knowles added an RBI sacrifice fly as the Owlz built a 3-0 lead in the top of the 6th Inning and held on for the victory. Francis Martinez had a 2-run homer in defeat for Missoula, as the Osprey fell to 15-12. The Owlz improved to 9-18 in the win.
