Pacific Coast League

SALT LAKE CITY-Abraham Almonte and Kevin Cron came through with key home runs and the Reno Aces got past the Salt Lake Bees 6-4 Wednesday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League action. The Bees built a 4-0 lead headed to the top of the 6th Inning on a home run and single from Jarrett Parker and a Ryan Scott single, as well as a Kaleb Cowart sacrifice fly. Lucas Luetge earned the win on the mound for the Aces as he improved to 2-0 on the season. Reno improved to 34-44 on the season while the Bees fell to 35-43. Salt Lake next hosts the Aces again Thursday evening at 7:05 pm.

Pioneer League

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Brandon Wulff belted a grand slam in the top of the 1st Inning to get the Ogden Raptors off to a good start en route to a 12-5 win over the Rocky Mountain Vibes Wednesday afternoon in Pioneer League baseball action.

Andy Pages also homered twice for the Raptors, who improved to 8-4 on the season.

Joe Vranesh and Justin Yurchak added RBI for Ogden, while right-handed hurler Corey Merrill earned the win on the mound for the Raptors.

Bryan Torres, Ernesto Martinez, Luis Avalo and Jess Williams had RBI in the loss for the Vibes, dropping them to 4-7.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-David Clawson came through with bookend RBI in the 4th and 9th Innings, respectively, to lead the Orem Owlz to a 6-1 win over Grand Junction in Pioneer League baseball action Wednesday evening. Adrian Rondo added a home run and Brandon White’s RBI groundout, leading the Owlz to a 5-7 record. The Rockies’ only run came on a wild pitch from Orem hurler Sadrac Franco, with Colin Simpson scoring for Grand Junction. Chad Sykes earned the win for Orem on the mound, while the Rockies fell to 6-5 on the season.
