SAN FRANCISCO-Monday, University of Utah senior guard Alfonso Plummer was named the Pac-12 player of the week by virtue of his heroics in the Utes’ 77-74 win over Colorado Saturday at Boulder, Colo.
The native of Fajardo, Puerto Rico posted 23 points in the second half Saturday to lead the Utes back from a 19-point deficit to vanquish the Buffaloes.
Plummer has scored in double figures four times in the past five games for the 7-7 (4- 6 in Pac-12 play) Utes.
On the season, Plummer averages 13.6 points per game and is third on the squad with 13 steals.
Plummer and his teammates return to action Thursday at 5:00 pm for a home date against the Arizona Wildcats at the Huntsman Center.
