Utah Men’s Basketball Hosts Tulsa Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, Utah men’s basketball returns to the Huntsman Center to host Tulsa of the American Athletic Conference.

The Utes are coming off a 1-2 performance at the Wooden Legacy as they defeated Grand Canyon and lost to Hawaii and Northwestern.

The 3-3 Utes will be hosting a 5-2 Golden Hurricane squad that downed the Texas-Arlington Mavericks 72-58.

Tulsa started the season 4-0 before losing successive games to Nevada and Southern Illinois.

The Utes come into this game outscoring opponents 75.5-72.8 while senior guard Sedrick Barefield posts 13.5 points per game to lead the squad.

The Golden Hurricane is led by Nigerian national, junior forward Martins Igbanu who averages 13.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game under head coach Frank Haith.

The Utes lead the all-times series against the Golden Hurricane 4-2, but Tulsa won the last matchup in the series, 69-60 in the CBI tournament quarterfinals at Tulsa, Okla.
