Utah Men’s Basketball Adds Brendan Wenzel To Roster

SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, Utah men’s basketball added incoming freshman Brendan Wenzel to the roster.

Runnin’ Utes head coach Larry Krystkowiak confirmed that Wenzel, a 6-6 180-pound guard out of Helotes, Texas, “has very good size and is an elite shooter.”

While starring for the O’Connor High School (San Antonio) Panthers, Wenzel ranked as the 18th overall player in Texas, per Rivals/Texashoops.com.

This past season, Wenzel averaged 24.1 points, 5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals per game.

He also shot 41 percent from the 3-point line and 87 percent at the foul line.

Wenzel joins fellow freshmen Jaxon Brenchley, Branden Carlson, Mikael Jauntunen, Rylan Jones and Matt Vankomen.
