Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers invited former Utah State offensive lineman Quin Ficklin to the team’s rookie minicamp. Fickin is a 6-2 300-pound prospect out of Mesa, Ariz. Ficklin earned first team all-Mountain West Conference honors from both the league’s coaches and Phil Steele’s magazine after durably starting all 13 games for the Aggies in 2018.

The New Orleans Saints confirmed the signing of former Weber State special teams ace/fullback Brady May. May will participate at Saints rookie camp this offseason.

Former Utah State wide receiver Aaren Vaughns signed with the Indianapolis Colts Tuesday. Vaughns is a 5-7 185-pound receiver out of Altadena, Calif. who made seven starts in 2018. Vaughns posted 33 receptions for 581 yards (17.6 yards per reception) and five scores. Vaughns showed his versatility by adding 100 rushing yards on 12 carries (8.3 yards per carry) in 2018 for the Aggies.
For his career, Vaughns had 47 receptions for 736 yards (15.7 yards per reception) and five touchdowns. He added 18 carries for 199 yards (11.1 yards per carry) and a score.

Former BYU quarterback Tanner Mangum has been invited to mini-camp by both the Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders, although it’s uncertain which one he will attend at this stage, per Salt Lake Tribune BYU beat writer Jay Drew. The first Weber State undrafted free agent signing also occurred as the Philadelphia Eagles signed offensive tackle Iosua Opeta, a product of Stansbury High School as well.

The Seattle Seahawks ensued in their fascination with the Utah Utes this weekend by signing Utah offensive lineman Jordan Agasiva. Agasiva joins safety Marquise Blair and linebacker Cody Barton who were drafted by the Seahawks Friday.

Former Southern Utah tight end Logan Parker has been signed by the Kansas City Chiefs, joining 6th round Kansas City draft pick, Utah State tailback Darwin Thompson as a Beehive State school alum on head coach Andy Reid’s squad. Additionally, Brigham Young offensive lineman Corbin Kaufusi has found a home with the New Orleans Saints this evening.

Former Utah State safety Aaron Wade (4 interceptions, one career touchdown, 66 career tackles) signed with the Cleveland Browns, as did his teammate and fellow safety, Jontrell Rocquemore (5 career interceptions, two forced fumbles). Their teammate and fellow safety, Gaje Ferguson (202 career tackles, 2 interceptions, one touchdown), signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, as did fellow Aggie, offensive lineman Roman Andrus.

Former Southern Utah guard Marquez Tucker signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent. The Bears also signed former Utah State receiver Ron’Quavion Tarver (160 career receptions, 1,880 yards, 18 touchdowns). The Bears added two more Utah State standouts in tight end Dax Raymond (72 career receptions, 873 yards, 3 TD’s) and safety Jontrell Rocquemore (5 career interceptions, two forced fumbles). Additionally, the Seattle Seahawks signed Utah offensive lineman Lo Falemaka, who matriculated at Cottonwood High School.

Former University of Utah football jack of all trades standout Chase Hansen found an NFL home for the time being Saturday at the conclusion of the NFL Draft.
Although Hansen was not drafted by anyone, several moments after the conclusion of the draft, he signed a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints.
Hansen, a native of Highland, Utah and a former standout athlete at Lone Peak High School, has played quarterback, defensive back and linebacker over the past four years for the Utes.
In his collegiate career at Utah, Hansen amassed seven sacks, 32.5 tackles for a loss, six interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and 16 passes defensed.
Additionally, Utah defensive back Corrion Ballard was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans’ NFC South rival.
In two seasons at Utah, the 6-3 200-pound Ballard posted three interceptions, a sack, 116 tackles and five stops for a loss.
