Utah College Football Signing Day Roundup: 2/6

With Wednesday serving as National Signing Day in college football, collegiate football programs scattered throughout the state have signed their initial members of their incoming classes ahead of the upcoming autumn.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Wednesday, the Dixie State Trailblazers’ football program welcomed in a class that boasted 16 members, as of 12:24 pm Wednesday afternoon.

Those signed include former Snow College and Layton High School kicker James Baird. He was joined by his fellow former Badgers, Simote Lokotui, a defensive back out of South Jordan Utah, and former Orem High tailback D’Arman Notoa.

Other Trailblazers to sign include Cyprus High offensive lineman Ben Schmith, Pine View High offensive lineman Solo Katoa, junior college transfer running back Andrew Kannely-Robles, Hemet H.S. (Calif.) offensive lineman Mayson McIntire, Durango H.S. (Las Vegas) defensive end Jayden Nersinger, Murrieta H.S. (Calif.) receiver Rickie Johnson, Central H.S. (Fresno, Calif.) defensive back Tyrell Grayson, Green Valley H.S. (Las Vegas) defensive end Mitch Jacobs, Compton H.S. CEDAR CITY, Utah-Southern Utah head coach Demario Warren brought in 30 new recruits in hopes of bolstering his squad after a disappointing 1-10 season in 2018.

PROVO, Utah-As of 12:33 pm Wednesday, BYU football had signed four new recruits.

The new Cougars include defensive back Dimitri Gallow, a defensive back out of Mt. San Jacinto College (Calif.), receiver/running back Javelle Brown, a 6-1 180-pound athlete out of Mira Mesa High School of San Diego, 6-5 215-pound defensive lineman Cade Albright out of San Juan Hills High School and San Juan Capistrano, Calif. and running back/receiver Luc Andrad, a 5-10 175-pound prospect out of Pueblo, Colo.

SALT LAKE CITY-The Utah Utes’ football program has announced five new recruits to add to their class as of the advent of signing day Wednesday morning.

As of 6:47 am, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham confirmed the signing of freshman defensive back Drew Rawls, a 6-0 184-pound prospect out of Beaumont, Texas.

At 7:00 am, the Utes welcomed Australian national offensive lineman Luke Felix-Fualalo, a 6-7 302-pound freshman out of Brisbane.

The Utes welcomed a quarterback in at 7:05 am in freshman Cameron Rising, a native of Ventura, Calif. who was most recently at Texas. Rising is a 6-2 229-pound signal caller who is a prototypical pro-type passer.

At 7:13 am, Utah signed freshman defensive back JaTravis McCloud, a 5-11 186-pound freshman out of Tulsa, Okla.

The Utes added another international prospect as of 8:10 am in London, England native Bamidele Olaseni, a 6-7 332-pound junior out of Garden City CC (Kan.)

OGDEN, Utah-Wednesday, the Weber State football program welcomed in 11 new recruits.

Among them was former Highland High defensive tackle/center Kaufusi Pakofe, a 6-3 300-pound behemoth.

Additionally, former Snow College star Sherwin Lavaka, a 6-foot 195-pound outside linebacker signed with the Wildcats. Lavaka starred at Kearns High School as well.

The Wildcats also signed Rocky Mountain High School (Idaho) outside linebacker Garrett Beck, cornerback Maxwell Anderson out of Moreau Catholic High School of Hayward, Calif., Weber High and North Ogden native long snapper Josh Carter, receiver Justin Haase out of Puyallup (Wash.) High School, cornerback Ja’kobe Harris out of New Orleans and Hayward, Calif., fullback/linebacker Dane Leituala out of Taylorsville High School, (he will be a fullback for the Wildcats), former Weber High linebacker Brandt Opheikens, cornerback Jacob Sharp out of Bethel High School of Vallejo, Calif., kicker Kyle Thompson out of American Fork High School, Boise State transfer safety Desmond Williams and junior college transfer running back Daniel Wright out of American River College of Sacramento, Calif.

LOGAN, Utah-The Utah State Aggies welcomed in a class of 30 recruits during signing day Wednesday, giving new head coach Gary Andersen a lot of latitude for this upcoming season’s roster.

Among his stars was tailback Jaylen Warren, a former Snow College star out of East High School in Salt Lake City.
