LOGAN, Utah-Tuesday, Utah State men’s basketball junior center Neemias Queta was named as the Mountain West Conference’s player of the week.
The Portuguese national recorded back-to-back double-doubles in a sweep of San Diego State at the Spectrum in Logan.
In last Thursday’s 57-45 win over the Aztecs, Queta posted 14 points and a season-high 16 rebounds along with three steals, one block and an assist.
In Saturday’s 64-59 win over San Diego State, Queta amassed 10 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and a steal.
Overall against the Aztecs, the NBA prospect averaged 12 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2 steals in the series. He also shot 64.7 percent (11-17) from the field in the games.
