SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-Wednesday, University of Utah men’s basketball forward Timmy Allen was named to the Julius Erving Award Watch List per a statement from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
This award, in its seventh year of existence, annually honors the top small forward in Division I men’s basketball.
Allen, a 6-6 198-pound junior forward out of Mesa, Ariz., netted 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Utes in 2019-20.
Allen also shot 44.1 percent from the field and 72.2 percent at the foul line last season 16-15 (7-11 in Pac-12 play) Utes.
Allen also netted 92 assists and 38 steals for the Utes in 2019-20.
Allen is only 108 points from becoming the 40th Ute in program history to net 1,000 points for his career.
This 20-member watch list will be pared down to 10 by late January. The five finalists will be selected in late February.
