UHSAA Releases Statement Concerning Gov. Herbert’s Remarks

MIDVALE, Utah-In regard to Utah Gov. Gary Herbert’s remarks concerning a statewide mask mandate from November 9-23, the Utah High School Activities Association released the following information late Sunday evening:

The UHSAA confirmed they will communicate with member schools as soon as information is available concerning protocols and procedures moving forward.

The statement continued, saying “the safety of students and Utah communities will continue to be paramount to the Association and its member high schools.”

Sunday’s declaration from the governor confirms all winter sports activities and practices will be suspended, at least until November 23.

This includes tryouts for boys basketball, girls basketball, boys wrestling and girls wrestling at Wasatch High School.
