Two Ute Golfers Named To All-Pac-12 Academic Teams

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, Utah golfers Nathan Wunderli and Jordan Costello were named to the All-Pac-12 Golf All-Academic Team, the league announced.

Wunderli, a junior out of Sandy, Utah, was named a first-team all-academic selection for a second-straight season, registered a combined 3.80 GPA and is an economics major. Wunderli competed in seven events this past season, posting a 74.7 strokes-per-round average and tallied three Top-50 finishes, posting five rounds at par or better.

Costello, a native of Pinedale, Wyo., is a sophomore and earned the first all-academic accolade of his career, with an honorable mention selection in 2017-18.

Costello played in all 11 events for the Utes this season, registering four Top-25 finishes and a 73.1 strokes-per-round average on the year.

He carded a season-best 3-under par, finishing in a tie for 14th at the John Burns Intercollegiate in February. He tallied 14 rounds at par or better this season.

This commemorates the third consecutive season to feature at least two Utah golfers earning all-academic honors in the Pac-12.

Furthermore, this is the golf team’s 12th academic all-honor overall since joining the Pac-12 in 2011-12.
