WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah-Tuesday, the Basketball Tournament announced it will bring its “high-stakes brand of basketball” to the Maverik Center of West Valley City this summer.

In 2018, Team Fredette, led by 2011 NCAA National Player of the Year, legendary BYU guard Jimmer Fredette, advanced to the semifinals of this event.

Fredette, a three-time All-Star in the Chinese Basketball Association, averaged a tournament-best 32.8 points per game.

Fredette and his 2018 teammates Brandon Davies and Charles Abouo, were also teammates at BYU and helped the Cougars advance to the 2011 NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16.

Other regional host cities include Columbus, Ohio, Lexington, Ky., Greensboro, N.C., Memphis, Tenn., Wichita, Kan., Syracuse, N.Y. and Richmond, Va.
