PROVO, Utah-Monday, former Wasatch High School track and field star Talem Franco was named to the USTFCCCA’s all-academic team Monday.
Franco, who completed his junior season at BYU, was one of 40 BYU track and field male and female athletes to receive academic honors from this organization.
Franco competed in the men’s 1500-meter run in the NCAA national championship meet at Austin, Texas last month, placing 11th overall in the final in this event.
His teammate, Clayton Young, was named as the 2019 USTFCCA outdoor track scholar athlete of the year. He also is the individual national champion in the men’s 10,000-meter run for 2019.
