SUU Men’s Basketball Back In Action At Idaho State and Weber State

CEDAR CITY, Utah-After dropping their first two Big Sky Conference games of the season, the Southern Utah men’s basketball squad continues conference play at Idaho State Thursday and at Weber State Saturday.

The 5-6 Thunderbirds will seek to reverse their 3-game losing streak at the Holt Arena of Pocatello, Idaho against the 5-6 Bengals, who are 1-1 in Big Sky play, having beaten Idaho 72-55 while falling 65-55 to Eastern Washington.

SUU scores 77.5 points per game while surrendering 77.3 points per contest.

The Thunderbirds receive complementary play from forward Dwayne Morgan and guard Cameron Oluyitan who average 13 points apiece on the season.

The Bengals score 75.9 points per game and surrender 77.6 points per contest.

Guard Brandon Boyd is Idaho State’s leading scorer as he posts 14.4 points per game for the Bengals.

Weber State currently sports an 8-5 record, including a 2-0 start in Big Sky play as the Wildcats have bested both Eastern Washington and Idaho.

The Wildcats amass 82.6 points per game while giving up 74.7 points per contest.

Weber State’s leading scorer remains star junior guard Jerrick Harding (21.2 points per contest). Junior guard Cody John averages 15.9 points per contest and senior forward Brekkott Chapman (11.8 points, 7.8 rebounds per game) is the leading rebounder for the Wildcats.
