FARMINGTON, Utah-Thursday, Southern Utah and Weber State men’s basketball, along with their Big Sky Conference brethren, were featured in polls conducted by conference coaches and media.
The coaches’ choice to win the conference is the Eastern Washington Eagles who received 96 total votes, including eight first-place votes.
Weber State was picked to finish third by the coaches, receiving 86 votes and SUU was slated to finish fourth by coaches as the Thunderbirds obtained 71 votes.
The media selected the Montana Grizzlies to win the conference as they netted 354 total votes and 13 first-place votes. The media picked Weber State to finish second, with the Wildcats getting 345 total votes and 12 first-place votes. The Thunderbirds were picked to finish fifth by the media, netting 247 total votes.
Since joining the Big Sky in 2012-13, this is the highest ranking from both coaches and media that the Thunderbirds have received.
Meanwhile, this is the 11th consecutive season the Wildcats have been picked either first or second in one of the polls.
