OREM, Utah-Wednesday, Utah Valley Wrestling hosts its annual intrasquad match with a former Wasatch High School star athlete having a chance to show his stuff.
Redshirt sophomore Spencer Heywood, who started half of the season in 2018-19 for Wolverines head coach Greg Williams at 157 pounds, will compete against fellow redshirt sophomore Jed Loveless at this match for the right to start.
Also in the mix at 157 pounds is redshirt freshman Jerry Rubio.
Heywood went 4-16 last season and registered one win by fall, one by a technical fall, one by major decision and one by decision as he showcased his skills in a variety of ways.
The Wolverines’ season officially commences November 2 at the Cowboy Open hosted by the University of Wyoming at Laramie, Wyo.
