BOULDER, Colo.-Alexa Smith posted 15 points, 15 kills and 23 digs as the Colorado Buffaloes outlasted Utah 3-2 in Pac-12 women’s volleyball action. Utah took the first and third sets, 25-21 and 25-13. The Buffaloes countered with 25-21 and 25-18 wins and a 15-13 win in the fifth set.
Dani Drews had 22.5 points, 10 digs and 20 kills in the loss for the Utes, which dropped them to 8-4 and 0-1 in Pac-12 play.
The Buffaloes improved to 9-3 on the season and 1-0 in conference matches.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-Lauren Twitty posted 19.5 points, 19 kills and 12 digs as the New Mexico Lobos dismantled Utah State 3-1 in Mountain West women’s volleyball action Wednesday. Tai Bierria added 19 points for New Mexico, helping the Lobos prevail 26-24, 19-25, 25-16 and 25-20 en route to improving to 7-6 on the season. Bailey Downing and Gabbi Shumway had 13 points apiece in the loss for the Aggies, dropping them to 2-10.
